Front of House Assistant Manager

Front of House Assistant Manager (previous experience in a similar role is essential)
40 \- 45 hours per week, 5 days per week, including weekends and evenings
Main Duties:
- To assist in managing the front of house team in both No.26 restaurant and events, ensuring excellent customer service at all times from all members of the team. Managing all operations in the absence of the Front of House Managers.
- Assist in training new staff.
- Manage the open and close of the restaurant in the absence of the Front of House Managers.
- Manage the set up, running of and closedown of events in both The Hideaway and The Boat House in the absence of the Front of House Managers.
- Assist in the management of a wide variety of event types, including weddings, corporate events, funerals, Christmas parties and other celebrations
- Accurately cash up tills and communicate any errors.
- Greet guests and guide them appropriately with a friendly, professional and happy demeanour.
- Serve people with a range of food and beverage with excellent menu knowledge.
- Working behind the bar, preparing and serving full range of barista coffee, cocktails and all drinks.
- Accurate use of EPOS/till system.
- Accurate use of the ResDiary online booking system.
- Ensure excellent communication and feedback between managers and chefs.
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and attentively in a fast paced environment.
- Ensure feedback/comments/complaints are dealt with politely, quickly and effectively.
- Take reservations for tables, larger groups and ticketed events and deal with enquiries in a timely manner.
- Ensure menus, pre\-orders and booking forms are sent and completed in line with customer and chef expectations.
- Understand fresh food and production methods to be able to talk confidently about the menu and dishes.
- Be attentive and offer suggestions/upsell throughout the customer experience. Drinks, side dishes, desserts, coffee etc.
- Understand and train the team on all areas, including, alcohol, allergy and food safety regulations.
- Adhere to legislation on licensing, trade, weights and measures. Challenge 25\.
- Have an excellent telephone manner and construct well written emails.

- Ensure cash handling procedures are adhered to at all times.
The Front of House Assistant Manager will be required to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays. In the event of staff shortages, be prepared to assist in other areas of Aston Marina.
