No two days are the same, but here’s what you can typically expect:
- Creating and managing jobs in the company’s freight system
- Coordinating air, road, short sea and deep\-sea shipments on behalf of clients
- Liaising with suppliers and carriers to ensure SLAs are met
- Preparing consignment paperwork and ensuring full compliance with audit requirements
- Sourcing and presenting freight rates and quotations
- Producing invoicing reports and completing customer invoices
- Monitoring and reporting on KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Reviewing internal processes and recommending efficiencies where appropriate
- Keeping customers fully informed of any issues affecting their shipments
- Creating and updating customer SOPs
- Identifying, developing and pursuing organic business growth opportunities with current clients.
We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in logistics and a hands\-on, can\-do attitude. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in the logistics or freight forwarding sector
- Experience working in a fast\-paced operations environment with a focus on SLAs and KPIs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — confident dealing with clients and suppliers,
- A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Solid IT literacy, including Excel reporting
- Experience with TMS systems
- A degree\-level qualification or equivalent is desirable
