Freelance Lead Electrical & Smart Buildings Project Director

AVC Integrations Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Freelance Lead Electrical \& Smart Buildings Project Director to work with us on prestigious high\-end residential and commercial projects throughout Central London.

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded electrical professional who combines strong engineering knowledge, project leadership, procurement, sales, client management, and technical expertise in luxury electrical and smart building systems.

We are looking for an individual who wants to operate as a trusted project delivery partner and directly benefit from the profitability and success of the projects they manage.

Compensation

• £250 per day


• 10% share of project profit

A formal legal agreement will be put in place to clearly define project profit calculations, reporting procedures, payment terms, and profit share entitlement, providing strong contractual protection and transparency for both parties.

Responsibilities

• Lead high\-end residential and commercial electrical and smart building projects from enquiry through handover


• Manage project profitability, programme, procurement, labour and resources


• Attend client, consultant and contractor meetings


• Coordinate architects, interior designers, consultants, suppliers and installation teams


• Support tendering, estimating and project acquisition activities


• Identify new business opportunities and develop client relationships


• Manage project risks and commercial performance


• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards


• Lead design coordination, installation, commissioning and handover activities


• Oversee electrical, lighting controls, smart home, BMS, networking, AV, security and automation packages

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 10 years' experience within the electrical industry


• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification (minimum)


• Current ECS Card


• NIC EIC Qualified Supervisor, Approved Contractor experience, or equivalent NAPIT qualifications


• Strong knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations


• Experience in testing, inspection and commissioning


• Experience managing electrical installations from design through completion


• Strong understanding of commercial and high\-end residential electrical systems


• Ability to review electrical drawings, specifications and technical submissions


• Full UK driving licence


• Right to work in the UK

• DALI lighting controls


• Electrical testing and commissioning

• Building Management Systems (BMS)

Smart Building \& Controls Experience

Candidates must be familiar with the design, coordination, integration and commissioning of:

• Trend Controls


• KNX (desirable)


• DALI lighting control systems


• HVAC controls integration


• Energy monitoring systems


• BMS front\-end systems


• Smart shading systems


• AV and unified communications systems


• Enterprise Wi\-Fi and network infrastructure
