We are a well\-established, fast\-paced fabrication company delivering high\-quality metal and structural products to customers across the UK. Our workshop and warehouse operate at high capacity, and we rely on an efficient, organised logistics team to keep production running smoothly. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team and play a key role in our daily operations.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the safe movement, storage, and handling of raw materials, components, and finished goods within our warehouse and production areas. Working closely with production supervisors and stores staff, you will ensure accurate stock control, timely deliveries to workstations, and a safe, tidy working environment. This is a hands\-on role in a busy, industrial setting, so reliability, attention to detail, and safety awareness are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials, pallets, and large components
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, checking goods against delivery notes and purchase orders
- Store items in designated locations, ensuring clear labelling and correct stock rotation
- Assist with regular stock checks, inventory counts, and update stock records accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse, yard, and storage areas
- Report any damaged goods, stock discrepancies, or safety hazards immediately
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, site rules, and safe operating procedures at all times
- Support production teams by delivering materials and components to workstations as required
Requirements
- Valid and in\-date forklift operator licence (counterbalance and/or reach truck – essential)
- Proven experience working as a forklift operator in a warehouse, manufacturing, or fabrication environment
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast\-paced, busy environment
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record\-keeping skills
- Good level of physical fitness – some manual handling will be required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions clearly
- Ideally familiar with fabrication materials (steel, aluminium, sheet metal, etc.) – desirable but not essential
