Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fork Lift Truck Driver to join our warehouse team in Rochdale. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks to efficiently handle materials, ensuring safe and accurate loading and unloading processes. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, precision, and organisational skills are paramount. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with prior warehouse experience or those eager to develop their skills in logistics and materials handling.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse
- utilise excel to track inventory movements accurately
- Assist with shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring timely processing of goods
- Handle materials carefully, adhering to safety protocols, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Organise stock storage areas efficiently for optimal space utilisation \- Storing pallets correctly
- Making space as you go, moving pallets for the right reasons in correct locations
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of work areas
- Safe loading and unloading of trailers, including auto hand truck on dock leveller.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets
- Time management \- Attendance and time keeping must be exemplary
- Ability to follow instruction and work to deadlines

- Good physical fitness with the ability to manoeuvre heavy loads
- attention to detail \- completing Paperwork \& booking in pallets documents
- Ideally hold a valid forklift licence recognised in UK with proven experience operating forklift trucks
- Previous warehouse experience is essential: training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for inventory counts and measurements
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks regularly
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in shipping and receiving processes
