Job Description
Role Overview
As a Food \& Beverage Duty Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the hotel’s restaurant, bar, and private events, ensuring exceptional service standards are consistently delivered. You will lead and support the front\-of\-house team whilst Supporting other departments when required reporting to Food \& Beverage manager or Operations Manager, contributing to the overall smooth running of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Service \& Guest Experience
- Deliver outstanding guest service across restaurant, bar, and event operations.
- Lead by example to ensure four\-star (or high\-quality) service standards are maintained at all times.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Build strong guest relationships to enhance repeat business and reputation.
- Supervise day\-to\-day food and beverage operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Coordinate restaurant, bar, and private event service to ensure consistency and quality.
- Oversee table service, reservations, and event setups.
- Ensure all areas are presented to a high standard, including cleanliness and ambience.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control where required.
- Supervise, motivate, and support the F\&B team during shifts.
- Assist with staff training, induction, and ongoing development.
- Ensure clear communication between front\-of\-house, kitchen, and management.
- Support the execution of private dining, weddings, and events.
- Ensure event spaces are set up according to client requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact during events to ensure smooth delivery.
- Maintain high service standards for all functions and banqueting services.
- Provide duty manager cover when required, acting as the senior point of contact.
- Oversee hotel operations during shifts, ensuring all departments run smoothly.
- Handle escalated issues, emergencies, and operational challenges.
- Support health \& safety compliance across the hotel.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene (HACCP), and health \& safety regulations.
- Maintain brand standards and company procedures.
- Ensure staff follow uniform and presentation guidelines.
Essential
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within food \& beverage or hospitality.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast\-paced environment.
- Good organisational and problem\-solving skills.
- Experience in hotel operations, including events or banqueting.
- Knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails.
- Familiarity with POS systems and stock control.
- Experience providing duty manager or shift leader cover.
- Professional, confident, and approachable.
