Floor & Carpet Sales Executive

Overview
We are seeking a proactive and personable Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in engaging with clients, supporting sales initiatives, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role involves working closely with both clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Customer Service \& Sales

• Greet customers professionally and understand their flooring needs.


• Explain different flooring products such as carpets, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, tiles, and underlay.


• Recommend suitable products based on budget, room type, durability, and design preferences.


• Provide product demonstrations and samples.


• Prepare quotations and pricing details for customers.


• Upsell related products such as adhesives, trims, rugs, and maintenance products.


• Follow up with potential customers to close sales.

Product Knowledge

• Maintain strong knowledge of all flooring materials, brands, features, and warranties.


• Stay updated on new flooring trends, styles, and installation techniques.


• Understand measurements, room dimensions, and flooring calculations.

Store Operations

• Keep the showroom clean, organized, and visually attractive.


• Arrange displays and sample boards properly.


• Monitor stock levels and report low inventory.


• Assist in receiving deliveries and checking product quality.


• Label products and ensure pricing is accurate.

Measurement \& Estimation

• Help customers estimate flooring quantities required.


• Coordinate site visits or measurements if the store provides measuring services.


• Understand basic floor plans and measurement calculations.

Order Processing

• Prepare invoices, sales orders, and receipts.


• Coordinate customer orders with warehouse or installation teams.


• Ensure timely delivery and installation scheduling.


• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer complaints professionally.

Communication \& Teamwork

• Work closely with installers, warehouse staff, and management.


• Maintain good communication with suppliers and customers.


• Report daily sales activities to the store manager.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain customer records and sales data.


• Use billing software or POS systems accurately.


• Achieve monthly sales targets set by management.

Basic Skills Expected

• Good communication and negotiation skills.


• Friendly and confident personality.


• Basic maths and measurement skills.


• Ability to stand for long hours and assist customers physically.


• Experience in retail sales is preferred; flooring industry knowledge is a bonus.

Pay: From £12\.71 per hour
