(Expectation that you will attend an office 2 days per week)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2027
Hours: Full time 37\.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon\-Fri)
Salary: From £55,000 depending on experience
THE ROLE
This role is responsible for external financial reporting across the Group, including production of the annual accounts, providing subject matter expertise on IFRS and technical accounting matters, and managing the external audit. It also plays an important part in maintaining effective financial governance.
You will lead the production of statutory and interim accounts for the British Business Bank Group and its subsidiary companies, ensuring accurate reporting, clear audit trails and compliance with relevant accounting standards. The role includes maintaining and reconciling investment loan records, supporting robust financial controls, and ensuring the correct IFRS 9 classification of financial assets and liabilities, with decisions supported by clear documented evidence.
A technical accounting background is important, ideally gained in banking, investment management or another relevant financial services environment. Current knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and experience producing complex consolidated financial statements would be valuable, alongside the ability to work collaboratively, communicate clearly and maintain high standards of accuracy.
