Role Overview:

The Financial Planning \& Strategy Analyst will play a key role within the finance team, supporting business performance, strategic planning and value creation. This is a highly analytical and commercially focused role with significant exposure to senior leadership, turning complex financial and operational data into clear insights, recommendations and actions. The Analyst will support the development of the five\-year business and value creation plan, financial planning and forecasting, acquisition modelling and integration, and a range of strategic and commercial projects. The role will suit an individual with a strong analytical and consulting mindset who is comfortable working at pace in a private equity portfolio company environment, where expectations are high and assumptions are regularly challenged.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Financial Planning \& Strategy

  • Support the development and ongoing refinement of the company's five\-year business and value creation plan.

  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic planning, forecasting and decision\-making.

  • Analyse large volumes of financial and operational data and distil this into clear, insightful management information.

  • Identify key trends, business drivers, opportunities and risks and translate these into actionable recommendations.

  • Support the annual budgeting, forecasting and long\-range planning processes.

  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess the financial impact of strategic decisions.

  • Prepare analysis and presentations for the senior leadership team, clearly communicating key findings, implications and required actions.
M\&A and Integration
  • Support financial modelling and analysis for potential acquisitions, including business cases, returns, synergies and scenario analysis.

  • Assist with the financial analysis supporting acquisition due diligence.

  • Support the development and tracking of post\-acquisition integration plans.

  • Monitor acquisition performance against the original investment case and identify key variances and actions.

  • Work cross\-functionally with Finance, Commercial, Operations and other teams to support successful acquisition integration.
Data \& Business Insight
  • Work with large and complex datasets from multiple sources.

  • Structure, analyse and interpret data to identify the information that matters most to the business.

  • Translate detailed analysis into concise and insightful summaries for senior management.

  • Develop clear financial and operational analysis to explain business performance and key variances.

  • Challenge assumptions and investigate underlying drivers rather than simply reporting outcomes.

  • Ensure analysis is focused on supporting management decisions and actions.
Stakeholder \& Project Management
  • Manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously, often to tight deadlines.

  • Work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.

  • Build strong relationships with Finance, Commercial, Operations and other functional teams.

  • Take ownership of analytical workstreams from problem definition through to recommendation and delivery.

  • Communicate complex financial and commercial issues clearly to both finance and non\-finance stakeholders.

  • Operate effectively in a fast\-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
Qualification, Experience \& Skills Required:
  • 2–5 years’ relevant experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, transaction advisory, corporate finance, FP\&A or a similar analytical environment

  • 2–3 years’ experience within a strategy or management consulting firm desired

  • Excellent financial modelling skills with advanced Excel capability

  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large volumes of data, with the ability to identify what really matters

  • Ability to turn complex analysis into clear, concise and actionable conclusions and recommendations

  • Excellent PowerPoint skills and strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Confident presenting to and constructively challenging senior stakeholders, and comfortable being challenged

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen

  • Experience with acquisition or M\&A financial modelling, business cases and investment analysis desired

  • Experience supporting post\-acquisition integration desired

  • Experience developing long\-range business plans or value creation plans desired

  • Experience working in a private equity\-backed or acquisitive business desired

  • Intellectually curious and enjoys solving complex problems

  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, with a strong focus on performance, accountability and value creation

  • Builds effective relationships across all levels of the organisation
