We are seeking a Financial Controller, UK \& Ireland to join our team in Buntingford/Cuffley, is responsible for the financial control, reporting and statutory compliance of the Group’s UK parent company and its UK and Irish subsidiaries. The role leads the month\-end, quarter\-end and year\-end close processes, oversees the preparation of statutory accounts and tax compliance, and manages the UK and Irish components of the Group audit.

The Financial Controller will ensure that financial information is accurate, complete and delivered in accordance with Group reporting deadlines, applicable accounting standards and local statutory requirements. The role will also provide financial analysis and insight to support the Finance Director and senior management in decision\-making, planning and performance management.

The role manages and develops a team of two accountants and works closely with the wider finance team, operational management, external auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisers. The successful candidate will have experience in a multinational or multi\-entity environment and a strong working knowledge of IFRS and FRS compliance and relevant UK and Irish compliance requirements.

Core Duties \& Responsibilities

· Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for the UK parent company, Technivo and DPI Ireland.

· Establish and maintain a detailed close timetable, assigning clear responsibilities and deadlines.

· Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and supporting schedules.

· Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.

· Ensure that intercompany balances and transactions are reconciled and differences are resolved promptly.

· Review inventory valuations, provisions and supporting records to ensure accuracy and compliance with Group accounting policies.

· Oversee the preparation of reliable receivables and payables ageing reports based on contractual due dates.

· Prepare or review divisional reporting, including reporting for ACCS.

· Develop and maintain a robust month\-end timetable that enables the UK and Irish entities to complete accurate reporting within the Group’s D \+10 reporting deadline

· Maintain an effective financial control environment and address identified control weaknesses.

· Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements for the UK and Irish entities in accordance with FRS and the applicable accounting framework.

· Lead the UK and Irish components of the Group audit and manage local statutory audits.

· Act as the principal finance contact for external auditors.

· Coordinate audit deliverables and ensure that requested documentation is accurate, complete and provided on time.

· Ensure statutory accounts are approved and filed within the applicable deadlines.

· Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards that affect the UK and Irish entities.

· Oversee corporation tax compliance for the UK and Irish entities, working with external tax advisers where appropriate.

· Prepare or review corporation tax provisions, instalment payment calculations and supporting schedules.

· Review tax computations and ensure that tax payments and filings are completed by the applicable deadlines.

· Review VAT and CIS returns and ensure that they are complete, accurate and fully reconciled to the accounting records.

· Maintain appropriate controls over VAT recovery and CIS treatment.

· Develop and maintain practical guidance covering VAT, CIS and corporation tax compliance.

· Provide regular training to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams on relevant VAT and CIS requirements.

· Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements in the UK and Ireland.

· Manage, support and develop a team of two accountants.

· Set objectives, provide regular feedback and identify training and development needs.

· Analyse financial results and explain material movements, risks and opportunities to the Finance Director and senior management.

· Work with operational stakeholders to improve the accuracy of financial information, forecasts and reporting.

· Promote accountability, strong financial controls and continuous improvement across the finance function.

· Develop, document and maintain accounting policies, procedures and control processes.

· Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and automation of financial reporting.

· Support the implementation and enhancement of ERP systems, reporting tools and finance processes.

· Ensure that financial records and supporting documentation are complete, appropriately retained and readily available for audit.

· Represent the business professionally and uphold the Group’s core values and behaviours in dealings with internal and external stakeholders.

· Maintain business and client confidentiality and comply with applicable data protection legislation, information security standards, and Company and Group policies and procedures.

Qualifications: Skills and Experience

· An expert in IFRS and FRS with proven experience in statutory accounts, Tax Return preparation and filing for audited UK entities.

· Demonstratable experience of leading and developing a finance team

· Experienced in a multinational / group reporting environment with a fast pace

· Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Navision, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

· Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).

· ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professionally qualified accountant, with significant relevant post\-qualification experience.

· Experience in the data centre or construction sectors is a plus.

· Proven track record of working with international teams and cross\-border entities.
