Financial Controller
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead our Finance Team within a growing international organisation. This is a key role focused on strengthening financial operations, improving processes, and supporting informed decision\-making across the business.
This is a hands\-on role that combines day\-to\-day financial leadership with the opportunity to shape and improve how finance supports the wider organisation. Working closely with the Financial Director and teams across the business, the role plays an important part in ensuring financial clarity, stability, and sustainable growth.
The role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, strengthening internal controls, and providing clear and accessible financial insight to colleagues at all levels.
It also includes responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and both group and departmental reporting. Alongside this, there is the opportunity to review and improve financial processes, support system development, and contribute to wider strategic planning as the organisation continues to grow internationally.
The hours of work are this position are 37\.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday in our Lancaster office.
Experience We’re Looking For
- Significant experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial compliance.
- Experience producing management accounts and leading financial operations.
- Confidence working with budgets, forecasts, and financial modelling.
- Experience improving financial processes or implementing new systems.
- A calm, structured approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Experience dealing with and reporting with multiple foreign currencies.
- Interest in how financial systems support organisational growth and long term sustainability.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is essential.
- Experience of dealing with non\-UK subsidiaries is beneficial, but not essential.
