Financial Controller / Finance Manager (Part\-Time)

The Company

AMS Bobcat are located in Scunthorpe and offer a wide range of services including new and used plant sales, expert servicing and repairs, and long and short\-term machinery hire from our own large hire fleet.

The Position

We are looking to recruit a Financial Controller / Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function within our small but busy team, reporting directly to the Director.

This is a part\-time role, offering flexibility of either 3 full days per week or approximately 25 hours across the week. The successful candidate must be available to work on a Wednesday.

The ideal candidate will be CIMA or ACCA qualified, or part\-qualified, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. You will be confident working in a hands\-on environment, with the ability to operate both strategically and at a detailed level.

This is a key role within a small team, where you will take full responsibility for the finance function, ensuring the business remains compliant, well\-controlled and supported with clear financial insight.

The Duties

· Full ownership of the finance function, reporting to the Director

· Preparation and submission of VAT returns, including import VAT reconciliations

· Preparation and submission of FCA returns

· Responsibility for Companies House filings and statutory compliance

· Managing insurance renewals and claims submissions

· Production of monthly management accounts with supporting analysis

· Preparation of year\-end accounts and liaison with external accountants

· Cashflow forecasting and ongoing cash management

· Maintaining and improving financial controls and processes

· Providing financial insight to support business decision\-making

· Processing monthly payroll

· Acting as HR advisor on day\-to\-day matters, working alongside an external employment law solicitor to support more complex HR matters and ensure compliance

The Package

Negotiable salary depending on skills and experience.
25 days paid holiday (pro rata), plus bank and public holidays.
Flexible working hours in line with part\-time arrangement.
