AD Vehicle Services Ltd is a rapidly growing automotive business and a Maxus Main Dealer, operating a busy workshop, body shop, parts department, and nationwide mobile fleet of engineers. We are a growing and well\-established business with an annual turnover of approximately £6 million. We pride ourselves on delivering high\-quality service and maintaining strong financial control as we continue to expand.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands\-on Financial Controller to take ownership of the company’s finance function. This is a key role responsible for ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision\-making.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, managing all aspects of finance in a fast\-paced SME environment.

Key responsibilities include:

· Oversee the day\-to\-day finance operations

· Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts

· Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting

· Maintain accurate financial records and controls

· Supervise ledger management, payroll, and reconciliations

· Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC

· Ensure VAT returns and statutory filings are completed accurately and on time

· Provide financial insights and analysis to support business growth

· Maintain and optimise use of Sage 50 / Sage 200 systems

About You

· Proven experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance role

· Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and/or Sage 200

· Experience managing finances within an SME (circa £4–£6 million turnover)

· Fully or part\-qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) preferred, or qualified by experience

· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

· Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the finance function

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Candidates without formal qualifications must demonstrate substantial practical experience.
