MCS is a family\-run cleaning and facilities support business, founded in 2008 by Tim and Kelly Blacknell. What started as a small operation has grown into a business turning over around £8 million a year, employing approximately 700 people — the vast majority part\-time — across the East Midlands and beyond. \*\*About the Role\*\*

Following the planned departure of our current Finance Manager (who is leaving on excellent terms after five years with us, and will support a full handover), we're looking for an experienced finance professional to take the lead on our day\-to\-day financial management.

You'll report directly to the Directors, with regular mentoring and support from our part\-time Financial Director — so you won't be doing this alone, and there's real scope to grow into the role as you build your experience.

This is a broad, hands\-on position at the centre of the business, covering:

\- Managing our banking relationship and funding facility, including reconciliations and cash flow monitoring

\- Overseeing credit control, aged debt, and cash collection

\- Producing accurate month\-end management accounts and departmental P\&L analysis

\- Supporting and developing our annual budgeting and forecasting process, and strengthening our balance sheet reporting

\- Processing payroll and managing pension administration for a large, mostly part\-time workforce

\- Managing accounts payable and supplier payment runs

\- Ensuring compliance with PAYE, VAT, pensions and other statutory obligations, liaising with HMRC as needed

\- Supporting our external accountants with year\-end preparation

\- Line\-managing and developing an accounts assistant and a trainee/apprentice

\*\*About You\*\*

\- Ideally newly qualified CIMA /ACCA or Part Qualified. Minimum AAT Level 4\. AAT Level 4 qualified, or part\-qualified/newly qualified CIMA or ACCA

\- Solid experience in a similar SME finance role — ideally including payroll, credit control, and managing a banking or (factoring) facility

\- Comfortable balancing hands\-on delivery with driving longer\-term improvement

\- Confident managing or mentoring junior team members

\- Good working knowledge of Sage and strong Excel skills
