Job description

I'm currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a leading international insurance business in London.

This is a key role within the finance function, with responsibility for technical accounting, financial controls and month\-end reporting, alongside the management of a small team.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results process.


• Managing and developing a small team of accountants.


• Ownership of technical accounting month\-end, including premiums, claims, acquisition costs, case reserves and IBNR.


• Oversight of technical GL reconciliations, controls and data quality.


• Ensuring accurate underwriting allocations across line of business, accident year, year of account, statutory class and currency.


• Reconciliation across core financial systems and resolution of data issues.


• Supporting audit requirements and working closely with FP\&A, Actuarial, Reinsurance and Regulatory Reporting.


• Driving improvements to month\-end processes, controls and reporting.


• Ensuring compliance with US GAAP requirements.

What we're looking for

To be successful in this finance manager role, you'll have to have the following experience:

• Strong insurance accounting experience.


• Proven experience owning or leading an insurance month\-end


• US GAAP knowledge, preferably within insurance.


• Previous people management or team leadership experience.


• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification is desirable.
