Finance Manager – Maternity cover contract with possibility to be extended
Location: Faversham
Contract: Fixed\-Term Maternity Cover – 1 Year
Hours: 37\.5 Hours a week, Monday to Friday
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join our team on a fixed\-term maternity cover contract, with the possibility of this becoming a full time position. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and can confidently manage day\-to\-day financial operations while supporting the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of finance and payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing and compliance with HMRC and other regulations
- Prepare financial reports and assist our accountant with monthly management accounts Year end accounts and self\-assessments
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Bank payments
- Manage cash flow, forecasting and budgeting.
- Reconcile bank accounts and month end process
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and bank managers
- Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
- Handle intercompany transactions and counter invoicing
- Provide financial insights, financial updates and support to the leadership team
· Assist the finance assistant with complex invoicing, expenses and credit control
· Managing the finance and operations team including workloads, appraisals, holiday and sickness
· In addition, provide administration and financial support to ensure that the company adheres to the Quality Management System and processes, certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001\.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero.
- Excellent understanding of bookkeeping, management accounts, and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and management skills.
- AAT Qualified with minimum of 3\-5 years’ experience
- Experience using WorkflowMax.
- Experience working within the surveying and construction consultancy industry.
