Finance Director (visual FX company)
About the Business
Our client is an international visual effects and creative production business working across film, television and high\-end content. The company operates across multiple locations, including London and Paris, and is part of a larger international group with operations in India. The business works in a project\-led environment, combining creative delivery with complex financial, operational and commercial requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the international finance function across the company’s London and Paris offices.
This is a hands\-on and highly strategic role, reporting directly to the CEO and Group CFO of the parent company. As a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will act as a trusted commercial and financial advisor, combining strategic thinking with strong operational delivery to support continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting \& Insight
- Deliver monthly financial reporting, including P\&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, across London, Paris and consolidated group views.
- Provide detailed variance analysis against the Annual Operating Plan, forecasts and historical performance.
- Present clear and commercially relevant financial insights to the Executive Leadership Team and wider group stakeholders.
- Manage a cross\-border finance team operating across London, Paris and India.
- Lead quarterly financial reviews in line with the reporting requirements of an internationally listed parent company.
- Coordinate annual statutory audits and manage relationships with auditors, accountants, banking partners and other external advisers.
- Oversee tax compliance, corporate governance and relevant legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Work closely with the CEO, Board Directors and senior leadership team on key business initiatives.
- Develop pricing strategies and detailed project costing models to support commercial decision\-making and improve project performance.
- Build financial models, scenarios and forward\-looking forecasts to support executive and investor decision\-making.
- Provide financial oversight across high\-value projects.
- Support the business on areas including UK and international tax credits, R\&D claims and related financial matters.
- ACCA or ICAEW qualified.
- Approximately 8–10 years of senior finance experience, ideally at Finance Director, Head of Finance or Senior Financial Controller level.
- Experience working within a growth\-oriented, project\-led or commercially complex business.
- Strong international accounting experience, including multi\-location financial oversight and statutory reporting.
- Advanced financial modelling capability and a commercially focused approach to business performance.
- Proven experience leading finance teams across multiple locations or jurisdictions.
- Previous experience within VFX, film, television, creative production or a related creative industry.
- Experience working within a business owned by, or reporting into, an Indian parent company.
- Familiarity with Indian listed\-company reporting requirements.
- Availability to join at short notice.
The role has responsibility across London and Paris and will require someone comfortable operating within an international, cross\-border environment. You will be based in the London office.
Pay: £70,000\.00\-£110,000\.00 per year
