Finance Director
Fractional Finance Director Location: Wishaw (flexible / hybrid)
Commitment: 2 to 3 days per week
Sector: Manufacturing \| Industrial Equipment \| Product\-as\-a\-Service
About Us Rhinowash is a UK manufacturing business specialising in industrial pressure washers, with a growing Product\-as\-a\-Service offer built around fixed assets, service, and long\-term customer value. We are scaling quickly and building with real ambition. We care about doing things properly, exceeding expectations, operating with genuine honesty and integrity, and setting higher standards through drive and passion. Now we need a hands\-on Fractional Finance Director who can bring financial clarity, commercial challenge, and stronger control to that growth without slowing it down.
Why This Role Exists
This is not a pure advisory brief. We want someone who is as comfortable building a cash flow model and stress\-testing a growth plan as they are tightening a process, challenging assumptions, or digging into the numbers when something does not add up. Payroll is handled externally and the core finance operation is stable, but we want stronger insight, sharper reporting, better forward visibility, and more robust commercial decision support as we scale.
What You Will Be Doing You will work closely with the founders and leadership team, helping shape decisions by improving the quality, clarity, and reliability of the financial information behind them.
Key Responsibilities· Act as a true partner to the founders and leadership team, using financial insight to support decisions rather than simply report numbers· Build and stress\-test forecasts, growth plans, and multi\-year scenarios so the business can scale with confidence· Take ownership of cash flow visibility, working capital awareness, and financial runway· Improve month\-end reporting so the leadership team gets fast, reliable numbers it can actually use· Strengthen budgeting, planning, financial controls, and management reporting· Support commercial decisions on pricing, discount levels, trade\-ins, deal structure, and margin protection· Help shape the financial structure and performance of our fixed\-asset Product\-as\-a\-Service model· Support year\-end and longer\-term planning so growth can be reinvested efficiently and tax leakage is reduced where appropriate· Define clear measures of business health and performance, and turn them into useful management information· Mentor and develop the Finance Manager, building capability without taking over day\-to\-day execution
What This Role Is Not· This is not a payroll or transactional finance role· This is not a light\-touch advisory brief or a purely board\-level position· This is not a sales decision\-making role, although you will influence commercial choices· This will not suit someone who waits for perfect systems or a large team before adding value
Who You Are· A qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or equivalent senior\-level experience· Already operating, or previously operated, at Finance Director or CFO level in a UK SME or scaling business· Strong commercial finance judgement, especially around pricing, margin, investment, and cash· Comfortable in manufacturing, engineering, asset\-heavy, or service\-backed product environments· Hands\-on, practical, and confident challenging assumptions when something does not stack up· Able to explain financial complexity in plain English and help non\-finance people make better decisions
Why Join Us This is a chance to shape a business with real ambition. You will have direct influence on how we grow, how we make decisions, and how well we build for the future.· A flexible, part\-time role with hybrid working· Real influence with founders and senior decision\-makers· A fast\-moving environment where good ideas can be turned into action quickly· A business that values exceeding expectations, genuine honesty and integrity, and higher standards driven by passion If you like building, fixing, and shaping a business rather than standing back and advising from a distance, we would like to hear from you.
