Finance Assistant
We are Partnered with a leading Accountancy Practice based in Central London seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their internal finance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and effective delivery of financial information and support to the business and partners. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple financial processes and will contribute to the overall efficiency of our finance operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Purchase Ledger Management:
- Log, check, and code invoices using Zahara and Quickbooks software.
- Distribute invoices electronically for approval and follow up as necessary.
- Set up weekly and monthly supplier BACS payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
- Address supplier queries and request copy invoices when necessary.
- Expense Claims Handling:
- Process weekly expense claims and payments for partners and staff, adhering to the firm's procedures and authorisation limits.
- Manage petty cash transactions.
- Sales Ledger and Client Accounts Management:
- Operate the sales ledger, including daily banking, reconciling ledger, producing invoices, and handling client queries.
- Manage approximately 75 client bank accounts using Xero software, ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
- Support in Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and budgets.
- Support the Financial Controller and Senior Finance Assistant with complex analysis and preparatory work for accounts.
- General Administrative Support:
- Maintain and develop client relationships, manage time effectively, and engage in firm-wide initiatives.
- Support marketing initiatives and advocate the firm’s values.
- Qualified by experience or part-qualified AAT/ACCA.
- Proficient in using Zahara, QuickBooks, and Xero software.
- Strong technical and compliance skills with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with peers and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
