An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance and Accounts Manager to join a thriving construction business based in Hertford, England. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being at the heart of finance operations, supporting a growing organisation with your expertise and nurturing a small team.
This is a pivotal role for the business and will have scope to expand and grow alongside the business.
- Take full ownership of the finance function, including payables, receivables, credit control, bank reconciliations and supplier relationships.
- Prepare and release payment runs and payroll, maintaining sound controls.
- Own the month-end process and produce management accounts and reporting.
- Explain financial performance clearly to directors and non-finance colleagues, and highlight issues and opportunities.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow plans.
- Manage VAT and other statutory compliance, deadlines and filings.
- Be the main point of contact for external accountants, auditors, banks and payroll providers.
- Prepare for and support the year-end audit and statutory accounts.
- Build and improve finance processes, systems and controls as the business grows.
