Finance & Accounts Manager

Green Energy Solar is one of South Wales' leading renewable energy businesses, delivering solar PV, battery storage and energy solutions to homeowners and businesses across the UK.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and hands\-on Finance \& Accounts Manager to take ownership of our day\-to\-day finance function from our Cardiff headquarters.

This is not a trainee or graduate role. We are looking for someone who can confidently manage the company's finance operations with minimal supervision and become a trusted member of our management team.

The Role

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting and efficient financial administration across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing Xero on a daily basis


• Bank reconciliations


• Sales invoicing and credit control


• Processing supplier invoices and payments


• Payroll administration


• VAT returns


• CIS administration (if applicable)


• Month\-end reconciliations


• Managing accruals and prepayments


• Maintaining accurate financial records


• Producing management information and reports


• Supporting cashflow management


• Liaising with external accountants where required


• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and enjoys taking ownership of their work.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience using Xero


• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge


• Payroll experience


• Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns


• Excellent reconciliation skills


• Strong attention to detail


• Confidence working independently


• Excellent organisational skills


• Experience supporting SME businesses

• AAT qualified, part\-qualified accountant or qualified by experience


• Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing or similar SME environments


• CIS experience
