The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and recent contract awards, we are seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Glasgow or generally within a 90–120 minute radius.
In this role, you will:
- Inspect, service, and maintain PE and gym equipment.
- Inspect everything from simple gym mats to full sports halls, as well as outdoor play equipment.
- Undertake repairs, such as replacing inserts on tables, installing new netting in sports halls, or fixing outdoor equipment.
- Work at heights, including tasks like installing netting or climbing structures.
- Carry out outdoor tasks, such as digging holes for trim trails or replacing defaced safety surfacing.
- Survey gym, outdoor, and sports hall equipment for new orders and repairs.
- Build strong relationships with high\-profile clients by delivering exceptional customer care.
This is a varied role, but the emphasis is always on safety. You will need to adapt to different tasks daily, using your practical skills and a working knowledge of tools. An eye for detail is critical, as is the ability to spot when something isn’t right.
You will also need to:
- Accurately measure in millimetres (mm) and metres.
- Be confident in identifying key information including colours and providing clear, descriptive reports on your observations.
- Willingness to drive 15\-20 hours per week.
You’ll need to be self\-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of the wider Sportsafe team.

- Full clean driving licence.
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
- Basic IT skills (training provided where needed).
- Previous experience in a Field\-Based Role (Preferred).
- Full\-time position with paid overtime (40 Hour contract with an average of 10 hours overtime per week).
