Leading and developing the related team, the Field Sales Director drives performance, builds strong customer relationships, and identifies new business opportunities. Through continuous market monitoring, the role ensures effective execution and sustainable commercial growth.
What will you do:
- Implement the distribution and commercial strategy within the Dutch market, expanding product availability, visibility, and market coverage
- Identify growth opportunities across existing and potential customers, strengthening relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners
- Lead, coach, and develop the field sales team, setting clear objectives, KPIs, and driving a performance\- and customer\-oriented culture
- Define and execute sales plans and priorities, ensuring achievement of revenue, distribution, and profitability targets
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities, translating insights into actionable plans
- Manage budgets and commercial investments, ensuring efficient resource allocation
- Collaborate cross\-functionally with marketing, category, and key account teams to drive commercial success
- Prepare regular reports and analyze KPIs to track performance, optimize execution, and support continuous growth
Requirements:
- Education: Preferable degree and background in Business Administration, Commercial Economics, Marketing or equivalent experience. Appreciated a technical training in the food sector.
- Professional Skills: Customer’s relation \& negotiation; Capability to score new business; Ability to analyze numbers; Forecasting techniques; Project Management; Products: general knowledge about food ingredients.
- Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a field sales team
Experience with distribution development within the Dutch market
- Language Skills: Proficient in Dutch; English language is considered a plus
- Computer Skills: MS office (Excel) mandatory, CRM/salesforce
- Behavioural Requirements:
- Others: availability to travel for more than 75% of the time.
