About ChargedUp ⚡
ChargedUp is powering the future of portable charging. Our shared power bank stations keep people connected across pubs, bars, shopping centres, gyms, hotels, and more. We’re scaling fast, and we’re looking for a hands\-on problem solver who’s as comfortable fixing hardware as they are zipping across London on a cargo bike.
The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Operations Field Engineer to be the go\-to troubleshooter for our charging stations. You’ll be in the field every day \- checking in with our venue partners, diagnosing and fixing hardware issues, ensuring our stations stay online, and helping us deliver industry\-leading uptime. You'll own large station installs and run production runs in our South London warehouse.
This is a mid\-level role: we’ll train you on the specifics of our kit, but we need someone naturally comfortable with technology, practical problem\-solving, managing their own time and being a friendly people\-person.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on ChargedUp stations across Greater London (and occasionally beyond).
Keep accurate records of work completed, issues found, and solutions implemented.
Identify recurring technical issues and collaborate with the team to improve long\-term reliability.
Run production day's at our warehouse occasionally.
Support installation of large stations where permits and strict access requirements are involved.
Be a brand ambassador and be a confident communicator with our venue partners.
About You
Comfortable with hardware and tech — whether from a formal background (engineering, IT, electronics) or hands\-on tinkering.
Strong problem\-solving mindset: you like figuring things out and making them work.
Good with time management — you’ll often be working independently.
Hold a UK driving licence (essential) with no points or insurance claims. (We will eventually supply a company van so ideally secure parking at your address is required)
Confident completing site access permits/admin tasks.
Flexible: happy to occasionally work outside the standard 11–7 window if urgent fixes are occasionally needed.
⚡ If you’re a practical, proactive, people\-person and ready to keep London charged up, we’d love to hear from you.
