About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Fibre Splicer / Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fibre optic installation, splicing, testing, fault finding and general maintenance across a range of customer sites.

This is a hands\-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in the field, solving technical problems and delivering a high standard of work.

Experience with CCTV and access control systems would be a great advantage

Key Responsibilities

  • Fibre optic cable installation, jointing and splicing

  • Fibre testing and fault finding using appropriate test equipment

  • Maintenance and repair of fibre optic networks and infrastructure

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance

  • Diagnosing and resolving technical faults on site

  • Working with clients and other engineers to complete jobs efficiently

  • Completing installation, testing and maintenance documentation

  • Working safely and following all relevant health \& safety procedures

  • Occasional installation and maintenance of CCTV and access control systems

  • Travelling to different sites across London and occasionally elsewhere in the UK

  • Being available for occasional overnight stays when required
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Fibre Splicer, Fibre Engineer, Telecoms Engineer or Maintenance Engineer

  • Practical experience with fibre optic splicing and testing

  • Good fault\-finding and problem\-solving skills

  • Full UK driving licence and comfortable driving to different sites

  • Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away overnight

  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently

  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude

  • Ability to work safely and efficiently on customer sites
Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:

  • CCTV installation and maintenance

  • Access control systems

  • Door entry systems

  • Data cabling / structured cabling

  • Network infrastructure

  • Security systems

  • Fibre OTDR testing and fault finding

We are looking for someone who is hands\-on, dependable and technically capable, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to travel when required.

Pay: £26,000\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
