Fibre Splicer / Maintenance Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Fibre Splicer / Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fibre optic installation, splicing, testing, fault finding and general maintenance across a range of customer sites.
This is a hands\-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in the field, solving technical problems and delivering a high standard of work.
Experience with CCTV and access control systems would be a great advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Fibre optic cable installation, jointing and splicing
- Fibre testing and fault finding using appropriate test equipment
- Maintenance and repair of fibre optic networks and infrastructure
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Diagnosing and resolving technical faults on site
- Working with clients and other engineers to complete jobs efficiently
- Completing installation, testing and maintenance documentation
- Working safely and following all relevant health \& safety procedures
- Occasional installation and maintenance of CCTV and access control systems
- Travelling to different sites across London and occasionally elsewhere in the UK
- Being available for occasional overnight stays when required
- Previous experience as a Fibre Splicer, Fibre Engineer, Telecoms Engineer or Maintenance Engineer
- Practical experience with fibre optic splicing and testing
- Good fault\-finding and problem\-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence and comfortable driving to different sites
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away overnight
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Ability to work safely and efficiently on customer sites
Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:
- CCTV installation and maintenance
- Access control systems
- Door entry systems
- Data cabling / structured cabling
- Network infrastructure
- Security systems
- Fibre OTDR testing and fault finding
- Full time work across London and surrounding areas
- Variety of installation, maintenance and fault\-finding projects

We are looking for someone who is hands\-on, dependable and technically capable, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to travel when required.

Pay: £26,000\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
