About the role

We're looking for a skilled Fibre Engineer to join our field delivery team. You'll be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing and commissioning of fibre optic networks — taking connections from the network through to live, fully tested services. This is a hands\-on, field\-based role suited to someone who takes pride in clean workmanship and right\-first\-time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Install, route and terminate fibre optic cabling across the network. Underground required, overhead capabilities desired also.


• Carry out fusion splicing of fibre at joints, cabinets and customer premises.


• Test and certify completed work using OTDR, power meters and light sources.


• Complete installations to agreed quality, safety and time standards.


• Maintain accurate records, as\-built documentation and job completion reports.


• Work safely in line with all relevant health \& safety and streetworks regulations.


• Liaise professionally with customers, landowners and colleagues on site.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fibre optic installation, splicing and testing.


• Confident using fusion splicers, OTDRs and optical test equipment.


• Experience in the Openreach PIA network


• Strong fault\-finding and problem\-solving ability.


• Full, valid UK driving licence.


• Good understanding of health \& safety practices on site.


• Reliable, self\-motivated and able to work as part of a team of two with minimal supervision.


• NRSWA / Streetworks accreditation (Unit 002 / O1–O8\).

• SA007 preferred


• Confined spaces medium preferred

Van, fuel card, and all necessary tools and equipment can be provided, however there is the opportunity to work with your own.

Pay: £34,500\.00\-£46,000\.00 per year
