Based in West Lothian, Broadex Technologies focuses on the development, production and sales of high\-end optical communication network components. The company is dedicated to supplying passive optical components such as Planar Light Circuit (PLC) silica waveguide chips, as well as active optical components such as transceivers, in high volume to the telecommunications market. Broadex’s core competencies are in the design, manufacturing, packaging and optical testing of a wide range of high technology devices for use in telecom and datacom networks.

We are currently hiring a Dayshift Facilities / Plant Room Engineer to support the Facilities \& Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the facilities department. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive maintenance and repair services for the facility, covering all aspects of plant and building services.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive maintenance and repair services for the facility, encompassing all aspects of plant and building operations. You will oversee related services, including planned maintenance programs and ensuring compliance with regulations. Proven experience in providing effective facilities services is essential. Candidates should possess an HND or an equivalent qualification in an electrical or electronic discipline, facilities management, or a related field. Alternatively, relevant work experience combined with professional membership in a recognised institution will be required. Strong communication, organisational, and project management skills are essential, along with a flexible approach to meeting business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

· Look after mechanical and electrical plant, including (but not limited to) electrical services, lighting, water services, HVAC, essential safety services, extract \& scrubber systems, compressed air, process vacuum, gas delivery systems

· Day to day scheduling and prioritisation of maintenance activities, coordinating with vendors and responding to service requests

· Supervision, maintenance and continuous improvement of all Plant Room Services

· Building Services management including statutory \& servicing needs and compliance with health, safety \& environment regulations

· Daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks of plant installations, building infrastructure and site

Establish preventative actions, maintain and elaborate a PM and servicing schedule in coordination with production to ensure that plant remains in good order, in conformance and calibrated

· React quickly and efficiently to non\-conformance and corrective maintenance needs, minimising impact to production

· Plan for emergencies and recover unexpected interruptions such as power outages

· Manage soft services like cleaning, security, grounds maintenance, etc

· Assist with environmental and waste management elements of the business

· Coordinate with contractors and other third parties as and when required about technical servicing issues and schedules

· Ensure adequate availability of spares and consumables for all plant \& building services

· Recording and analysis of monitoring data and reporting on the Facility Management system performance

· Document plant and facility procedures

· Bring cost savings initiatives and continuous improvement proposals

· Participate in internal and external safety and quality audits as required

· Participate as an active member of the Emergency Response Team and in cross training functions

· General handyman and grounds keeping duties

Qualifications / Experience \& Skills:

· Educated to HND or equivalent within an electrical or electronic discipline

· A practical working knowledge of ISO 41001

· BS 7671: 18th Edition of the Electrical Wiring Regulations desirable

· PAT testing certificate or demonstrable experience

· Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques

· Proficiency in CMMS, BMS, SCADA, ERP and MS Office software

· Familiarity with RAMS documentation and permitting systems

· Experience in assembly of ABS and uPVC pipework

· Excellent trouble shooting abilities and able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure either on your own or in a team

· Previous experience working in a wafer fabrication or other cleanroom environment is desirable
