Experienced Female Carer
The Role:
We are seeking carers to join a small team, providing 24\-hour support to a lady with Rett Syndrome, in her family home.
The condition is linked to numerous health needs, and the lady is unable to perform any tasks independently. She accesses PEG and Suction, a hoist for all moving and handling and is doubly incontinent.
We are therefore seeking experienced carers who are accustomed to supporting a severely disabled person and are willing to undertake relevant training to develop their existing skills.
When out in the community, the lady enjoys swimming and accessing the local cinema, bowling alley or park. She enjoys the company of people with a good sense of humour who will have fun banter.
You must be reliable and compassionate with a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for this lady.
You will be joining a warm, friendly and supportive environment, and would be welcomed.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain Safety
- Administer Medication (PEG)
- Utilise relevant medical equipment and maintain as required
- Provide full personal care
- Support with full daily routine
- Support to access the community
- Previous moving and handling experience (full training can be provided)
- Knowledge of suction equipment, (full training will be provided)
- Knowledge of PEG administration, (full training will be provided)
- Knowledge of using a Drive
- Experience supporting a person with epilepsy, (training provided)
- Comfortable administering personal care
- Medication confidence
- Sociable
No formal qualifications are required but Level 2 Health and Social Care would be advantageous. Being sociable, with a positive attitude and commitment to training are more relevant to this role

Pay: £15\.00 per hour
