Events & Marketing Executive
We are seeking a proactive, highlight organised events and marketing executive to support the events team at TheBusinessDesk.com deliver over 200 events per year. You will need to be capable of taking ownership of end\-to\-end event delivery and will be responsible for delivering a diverse calendar of events, driving brand awareness \& customer engagement.
TheBusinessDesk.com is the market leader for regional digital business news. Completely free to all readers, we provide 2\.5 million emails per month generating around 1\-million\-page impressions.
Our client services include: business development, digital advertising, content and thought leadership, and events whether that be large awards dinners through to targeted round table discussions.
We operate across six regions: Yorkshire; North West; West Midlands; East Midlands, South West and Scotland.
Events support:
Working closely with the COO and events team to:
● Plan, coordinate, and manage corporate B2B events, ensuring seamless execution from planning through to execution including seminars, roundtables, conferences, business lunches, conferences and award ceremonies.
● Manage relationships with external clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure project success.
● Manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
● Ensure all marketing and event activities comply with brand guidelines.
● Onsite event management of corporate events including, lunches, awards ceremonies and conferences.
Digital Marketing Support:
Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager supporting day\-to\-day digital marketing activity.
● Create, schedule, and publish social media posts to promote events across platforms.
● Create visual assets for social media (images, short videos, speaker graphics).
● Supporting the creation of digital assets for events: brochures, screen content, table plans, set branding.
● Maintain and update TheBusinessDesk.com website and event websites.
● Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate marketing campaigns.
● Monitor and analyse campaign performance using analytics software.
Essentials:
Min 1 x year previous Marketing and events experience
A successful Marketing \& Events Manager should have:
● Proven experience in marketing and event management
● Excellent organisational and project management skills
● Strong written and verbal communication abilities
● Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, PowerPoint)
● Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms
● A keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask effectively and manage a busy workload
● Positive, proactive, “get things done” attitude
● Willingness to travel and attend events outside standard working hours when required
What's on Offer:
· Competitive salary up to £30,000
· Hybrid working arrangement with two days on\-site at our Birmingham city centre office (excludes onsite event days).
