Event Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Event Manager to oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of educational, cultural and community events across the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will manage the full event lifecycle, ensuring events are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with organisational objectives.
The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement and operational planning skills, together with an understanding of cultural and community\-focused events.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and manage educational, cultural, fundraising and community events from concept through to completion.
- Develop detailed event plans, schedules, budgets and risk assessments.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers, contractors and service providers to ensure successful event delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
- Coordinate event logistics including venue preparation, equipment, catering, transportation and registration processes.
- Manage event budgets and monitor expenditure to ensure financial control.
- Recruit, train and supervise volunteers and event support staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and relevant event regulations.
- Monitor event performance and prepare post\-event evaluations and reports.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to support event promotion and audience engagement.
- Maintain strong relationships with community partners and cultural organisations.
Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Event Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Project Management, Marketing or a related discipline.
Experience: At least one year of experience in event management, project management, programme coordination, conference management, community engagement or related fields.
Project Management: Demonstrable experience planning and delivering events, programmes or projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Financial Competence: Experience managing budgets, supplier relationships and operational expenditure.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Personal Attributes: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, problem\-solving ability and capacity to work under pressure.
