Equipment Engineer
Based in West Lothian, Broadex Technologies focuses on the development, production and sales of high\-end optical communication network components. The company is dedicated to supplying passive optical components such as Planar Light Circuit (PLC) silica waveguide chips, as well as active optical components such as transceivers, in high volume to the telecommunications market. Broadex’s core competencies are in the design, manufacturing, packaging and optical testing of a wide range of high technology devices for use in telecom and datacom networks.
We are now recruiting for an Equipment Engineer. Supporting the Facilities \& Maintenance Manager, you will be actively involved in assisting in the smooth and efficient running of the Maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to wafer fabrication equipment by carrying out reactive maintenance.
- Carry out preventive maintenance as determined by maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all equipment engineering practices and procedures are carried out in accordance with current health and safety legislation.
- Maintain maintenance procedures for all production equipment.
- Liaise with main equipment suppliers about technical servicing issues as required.
- Ensure adequate availability of equipment spares for all manufacturing equipment.
- Participate as an active member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Direct experience of any of the following equipment types: CVD, PVD, Dry Etch, Thin Films Photolithography equipment, advantageous.
- Excellent fault finding skills.
- Able to make decisions under pressure.
- Experience of Chemical handling and vacuum technology.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Computer literate.
· Educated to HND or equivalent within an electrical or electronic discipline.
· Previous experience working in a wafer fabrication environment would be advantageous.
· Excellent trouble shooting abilities and able to work on your own or in a team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent fault\-finding skills, be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work with excellent communication skills. Be proactive and capable of working without direct supervision and enjoy the challenge of working to deadlines to achieve defined targets within a fast\-paced manufacturing environment.
