You’ll join our People and Culture team, working alongside the EDI Lead and wider Learning and Organisational Development colleagues to help embed inclusive behaviours and a culture of belonging across Ashgate Hospice.
Due to changes in the team, this is a new, fixed\-term opportunity to take on a practical, people\-focused coordination role where your organisation, communication and relationship\-building skills will help staff and volunteers access the learning, resources and support they need to work inclusively.
About the role

Hours: 15 hours per week, 0\.4 FTE. We are open to flexible working, and the role may suit short working days.
Contract length: 18 months fixed\-term contract
- Part\-time role based primarily at our Old Brampton site.
- Some flexibility may be required to support occasional events across North East Derbyshire.
- Coordinate agreed EDI learning, engagement and communication activities, including planning, promotion, evaluation and record keeping.
- Support the EDI Lead to translate the organisational EDI action plan into practical activities and maintain accurate action logs.
- Prepare accessible learning materials, resources and communications in line with inclusive language and accessibility standards.
- Support the planning and delivery of EDI events, awareness days, learning sessions, staff network activity and inclusion campaigns.
- Maintain records and evidence logs to support EDI accreditations, audits, compliance reporting and continuous improvement.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience of coordinating or supporting training, events, groups, networks or engagement activities.
- Strong organisation, project management and time management skills, with good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
- Digital literacy, ideally including Microsoft 365 or similar systems used to maintain records, resources and action trackers.
- A genuine interest in equality, diversity, inclusion and community engagement.
Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life\-limiting or incurable illnesses, including cancer, neurological diseases, and advanced heart, kidney, and lung conditions. Last year, we cared for over 2,400 people. Our aim is to support our patients by keeping them informed, managing their symptoms, and improving their quality of life from diagnosis onwards.
We also provide vital support to the people who are important to them, offering practical assistance and emotional support, including bereavement services.
