Role Summary
----------------

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Business Manager for our Sustainability Strategy Group to join our team.

Acts as Chief of Staff to the Head of Sustainability Strategy, EMEA, driving coordination, execution, and governance of the regional sustainability and social value strategy. Oversees cross\-functional change initiatives, strategic planning, and operational effectiveness to ensure delivery of key sustainability priorities across EMEA.

  • Drive delivery of cross\-functional ESG/sustainability strategy and change initiatives across EMEA.

  • Lead strategic planning, governance, budgeting, and performance tracking for Social Value Creation activities.

  • Act as a central coordinator and advisor, aligning stakeholders and ensuring effective execution of regional priorities.

  • Strong experience in financial services with exposure to strategy, change management, or consulting environments.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills at senior level.

  • Proven analytical, organisational, and problem\-solving capabilities, ideally with ESG/sustainability experience or strong interest.

Position Description
------------------------

Role Purpose: To act as the Chief of Staff, STPD\-Planning / Sustainability Strategy, supporting and partnering with the Head of Sustainability Strategy, EMEA and the Head of Sustainability Strategy, EU.

  • + This is a senior leading, coordination and facilitation role within EMEA Sustainability Strategy.

+ Drive cross\-functional sustainability/ESG projects and change initiatives, ensuring timely delivery. Including strategic, regulatory and data \& technology projects.
+ Manage and oversee the regional Social Value Creation budget
+ Embedding change initiatives into BAU processes.
+ Supervision of change resources/project managers/consultants
+ Support the development and implementation of the EMEA Social Value Creation strategy.
+ Drive coordination and alignment across EMEA Sustainability Strategy
+ Serve as a liaison between the sustainability team and internal/external stakeholders.
+ Manage preparation and governance of leadership meetings e.g. Social Value Management Forum, project steering committees, project working groups.
+ Support with team administration, team structure/TOM
