Veetee is a global ambient foods and rice company, supplying major retailers, wholesalers, and food manufacturing businesses. We operate two factories and three warehouses in Rochester, Kent, alongside a manufacturing site and corporate office in India and a Sales \& Distribution team in the USA.
Job Purpose:
To be an effective member of the maintenance team and to support the running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and by delivering planned maintenance, as well as to keep engineering stores up to date as per CMMS system.
Responsibilities:
Engineering
- Responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance work; including breakdowns and planned maintenance to the production line machinery, keeping down\-time to a minimum
- Drive and initiate continuous improvement across the factory to enhance quality, efficiency, performance, safety, and waste reduction.
- Responsible for completion of PPM tasks and daily checks in a timely manner.
- Work with our CMMS system, work orders, and spares etc
- Help and assist in the training of others and identify own training needs.
- Ensure all work undertaken is completed adhering to the Company’s Hygiene Code of Practice, Food Standard Practices and Health and Safety requirements.
- Make sure all work carried out is legally compliant with Health and Safety standards.
- Maintaining tools and equipment to a safe working condition
- Develop and maintain good working relationship with the Operations Manager
- Provide support to other engineering teams as required.
- Carry out and other reasonable duties associated with the role or projects assigned to meet the overall objectives of the role
- Liaise with members of the Engineering team to fully understand Assets, PPM programmes, and store stock requirements.
- Maintain the stores areas to make best use of the space available and establish a ‘user friendly’ facility.
- Ensure all work carried out are compliant with Health and Safety requirements.
- Ensure all work undertaken is reportable and auditable (Parts to reorder report, purchase order status report, Deliveries outstanding report).
- Create suitable reports to indicate the effectiveness of the system, accuracy of stock reconciliation and the number of stock turns.
- Coordinate the purchasing of items for use in reactive tasks, only as defined on the appropriate W/O.
- Manage the re\-ordering of stock items as dictated by the systems pre\-determined maximum / minimum requirement.
- Set up monthly cyclical stock taking as directed by the Facilities and Stores Manager.
- Any other reasonable duties, responsibilities, or requests that may be issued by management from time to time.
- Previous experience working within a similar role, managing breakdowns and planned maintenance
- Strong knowledge of bearings, pneumatics, electrical control systems, process control, fault diagnosis and safety
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to use a CMMS system
Monday\-Friday, 9:00\-17:30
Pay: £43,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
