About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Employee Relations Manager to lead our employee relations function in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished HR professional who is passionate about fostering positive workplace relationships, ensuring employment law compliance, and partnering with senior leaders to build a high\-performing and inclusive culture.

You will play a key role in managing complex employee relations matters, driving best practice, and supporting organisational change while balancing commercial objectives with employee wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and appeals.

  • Provide expert guidance to senior leaders and HR teams on UK employment legislation and HR best practice.

  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies that enhance engagement and minimise organisational risk.

  • Support organisational change initiatives, restructures, consultations, and workforce planning.

  • Analyse employee relations trends and HR metrics to identify risks and recommend proactive solutions.

  • Review, update, and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and operational effectiveness.

  • Coach and mentor HR colleagues and line managers in handling employee relations matters confidently and consistently.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

  • Partner with legal advisers where required on complex employment matters.
Skills \& Experience
  • Proven experience in a Senior Employee Relations Manager, Employee Relations Lead, or senior HR Business Partner role.

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex and high\-risk ER cases.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Experience supporting organisational change, restructures, and consultation processes.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and identify trends.

  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills.

  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
