As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Employee Relations (ER) Business Partner to join our dynamic HR team and drive proactive, fair, and effective employee relations practices across the business.
About the Role:
The Employee Relations Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing expert guidance on a range of ER matters. You’ll be responsible for managing complex employee relations cases, developing policy, ensuring compliance with employment law, and supporting our people\-first approach to HR.
Location: We are looking for a candidate who is ideally based in the Midlands region (Birmingham, Leicester area) as this role will cover our services in the midlands and south of England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and support on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence, and conflict resolution.
- Lead or support complex casework and investigations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and employment legislation.
- Coach and support line managers to handle ER matters confidently and effectively.
- Monitor ER trends, identify risks, and develop proactive interventions to reduce ER issues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support change management initiatives, including restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes.
- Maintain up\-to\-date knowledge of employment law and ensure best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment across the function.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a dedicated Employee Relations or HR Business Partner role in the health and social care/education sector
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law (or relevant regional law).
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
- CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience) preferred.
