Employee Relations Advisor
We are looking for an experienced ER Advisor to join our team on a 6\-month fixed\-term contract. The role is currently based at our Upminster office, with an upcoming move to our Brentwood location.
The successful candidate will provide first\-line Employee Relations support to line managers, advising on a range of people management matters including sickness absence, AWOL cases, family\-friendly policies (including maternity and paternity leave), flexible working requests, and low\-risk grievance and disciplinary cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an ER professional who enjoys providing practical guidance and ensuring people matters are managed fairly, consistently, and in line with company policies and employment legislation.
- Providing Employee Relations advice and support on sickness absence, AWOL cases, family\-friendly policies, flexible working requests, and low\-risk disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Managing and maintaining accurate Employee Relations case records, escalating complex or high\-risk matters to the appropriate HR Business Partner when required.
- Preparing and issuing correspondence, including invitations, outcome letters and supporting documentation.
- Coaching and supporting managers through Employee Relations processes, including investigations, hearings, report writing and case outcomes.
- Providing support through the HR Advice Inbox, ensuring queries are handled promptly and professionally.
- Maintaining employee records and HR systems, including updating Occupational Health outcomes and disciplinary sanctions.
- Producing management information and reports on Employee Relations activity, trends and case volumes.
- Identifying Employee Relations training needs and delivering webinars, guidance and training sessions for line managers.
- Ensuring employee data is accurately recorded, securely maintained and processed in accordance with GDPR requirements and company best practice.
You'll possess excellent coaching and questioning skills, enabling you to assess risk effectively, gather relevant information, and provide pragmatic solutions that balance business needs with employee wellbeing. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems, will allow you to maintain accurate records and produce meaningful management information.
Highly organised and detail\-oriented, you'll be able to prioritise competing demands, work to tight deadlines, and deliver a consistently high standard of service. You'll also have experience collating, analysing and evaluating information, using data and insights to support decision\-making and identify trends.
A confident communicator, you'll be capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, quickly establishing credibility through your professional and collaborative approach. Specific Qualifications* Membership of CIPD or demonstrable HR experience.
- Previous experience in an ER help desk role.
- Experience of high volume ER case support
- Strong employee relations knowledge
- Car Allowance: £3,596 (where own car is used for business travel)
- up to 4% bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets.
