Job Details

Ensuring that young people achieve and sustain positive destinations is a key priority for Fife Council Education Directorate.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Employability Officer to support the delivery of employability, work\-related learning and related communication strategy across Fife. This role will contribute to the development of skills, confidence, and work readiness in young people, supporting them to access and sustain positive destinations.

Working collaboratively with the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) team, Destinations team, schools and partners, you will play a key role in delivering initiatives that support learners to develop employability skills and engage effectively with employers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support learners and participants throughout their training journey, ensuring progress towards agreed outcomes.

  • Coach and mentor young people to support individual learning needs and improve employability skills.

  • Contribute to the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of employability programmes and interventions.

  • Gather, collate, and analyse data to support monitoring, reporting, and improvement of services.

  • Oversee DYW marketing strategy, social media channels and related comms.

  • Work collaboratively with schools, employers, training providers, and partners.

  • Contribute to partnership meetings and wider employability networks.

  • Ensure all programme delivery meets the required standards and policies.

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying effective practice and contributing to service development.
The Person

You will bring experience of working with young people or individuals who may face barriers to employment, with the ability to motivate and support learners in a training or development environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working collaboratively with partners including employers and training providers.

  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workload effectively.

  • Confidence in using data to monitor progress and inform improvements.

  • A proactive and flexible approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Qualifications to SCQF Level 5 (or equivalent).

  • Working knowledge of vocational qualifications and training programmes.

  • Ability to travel across Fife.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
