Electrician

Thermal Care Scotland is expanding its operations and is looking for an experienced Electrician to join our growing team.

The role will support our air conditioning, heating and renewable energy installations by completing associated electrical works in domestic and commercial properties.

This position is suited to an electrician who has completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or holds an appropriate Level 3 electrical NVQ and can work safely and independently to a high standard.

You will primarily work throughout North East England. Occasional travel and working away may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Complete electrical works associated with air conditioning installations


• Install new circuits, isolators, containment and cabling


• Carry out consumer unit and distribution board alterations


• Complete electrical connections for air conditioning and HVAC equipment


• Inspect, test and certify completed electrical work


• Diagnose and repair electrical faults


• Complete Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates and Electrical Installation Certificates


• Ensure all work complies with current wiring regulations and company standards


• Complete job sheets, test results and photographic records


• Communicate professionally with customers, engineers and site teams


• Follow all company health and safety procedures


• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles

Essential requirements

• Completed recognised electrical apprenticeship or Level 3 Electrical NVQ


• Relevant electrical installation qualifications


• Practical experience completing domestic or commercial electrical work


• Good knowledge of electrical installation methods and current regulations


• Ability to install, inspect and test electrical circuits


• Strong fault\-finding skills


• High standard of workmanship


• Ability to work independently and alongside other engineers


• Good communication and customer service skills


• Full UK driving licence

Preferred qualifications and experience

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification


• Inspection and Testing qualification, such as City \& Guilds 2391 or equivalent


• AM2 assessment


• ECS Gold Card


• Experience working with air conditioning or HVAC equipment


• Experience with three\-phase electrical systems


• Experience with solar PV, battery storage, EV charging or heat pump installations

Candidates who have completed an electrical apprenticeship or NVQ but require some additional HVAC\-specific training may still be considered.
