Electrician – Healthcare Refurbishment Project
Location: South East London
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full\-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join our project team delivering a major healthcare refurbishment within a live hospital environment in South East London. The successful candidate will undertake electrical installation works associated with the refurbishment of patient wards and clinical areas, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with NHS standards and current electrical regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Installation of containment systems including tray, basket, trunking, conduit, and cable ladder.
· Installation of LV power distribution systems.
· Installation of small power, socket outlets, isolators, and FCUs.
· Installation and modification of lighting and emergency lighting systems.
· Cable installation, glanding, termination, and testing.
· Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and schematics.
· Liaising with site management, subcontractors, Trust representatives, and clinical staff.
· Maintaining compliance with BS 7671, HTM guidance, and site procedures.
Essential Requirements
· NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
· 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671\).
· Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial, healthcare, or critical environment electrical installations.
· Ability to work independently from drawings and specifications.
· Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
· Full UK driving licence.
· Applicants must hold a full UK clean driving licence and meet company vehicle insurance eligibility requirements.
Desirable Qualifications \& Experience
· ECS Gold Card.
· City \& Guilds 2391 Inspection \& Testing.
· Previous NHS or healthcare project experience.
· Knowledge of HTM standards and healthcare engineering practices.
· IPAF.
· PASMA.
· SSSTS or SMSTS.
· Experience with nurse call systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and critical healthcare infrastructure.

Pay: £50,466\.56\-£70,480\.66 per year
