RJS Ventol is a well\-established Mechanical \& Electrical contractor delivering high\-quality building services solutions across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes.
The Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of electrical building services systems across multiple projects. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and data/communication systems
- Produce drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Carry out electrical calculations (load assessments, cable sizing, fault levels)
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to inform design solutions
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and relevant UK standards
- Prepare specifications, reports, and tender documentation
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams
- Attend meetings and provide technical support throughout project delivery
- Review subcontractor designs and installations
- Degree, HND or HNC in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- Experience within an M\&E contractor or consultancy
- Strong understanding of electrical design and UK regulations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Familiarity with design software (e.g. Amtech, Dialux, Relux)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Professional membership (IET, CIBSE or similar)
- BIM experience
- Knowledge of sustainable technologies
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience
