The Alphabet House Nursery Group, established for over 30 years with 9 nurseries across East and South East London, is seeking an Early Years Operations Manager to support and oversee our nursery settings.

Experience \& Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ recent experience managing multiple nurseries or a large nursery setting, with consistent *Good* or *Outstanding* Ofsted outcomes

  • Ideally an Early Years Degree (or equivalent childcare qualification at Level 3 or 4\)

  • Primary or Early Years teaching experience is an advantage
Salary Package
  • Negotiable, dependent on experience and qualifications
Purpose of the Role

The Early Years Operations Manager will inspire and support our management teams, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and compliance across our nurseries. We are looking for a team\-focused leader with energy, humour, and a proven ability to drive improvement and excellence.

Background \& Experience

  • In\-depth knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and Ofsted requirements

  • Strong understanding and practical experience in nursery care, child development, and parenting support

  • Experience managing nursery finances and accounts

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, with ability to develop and implement policies and procedures

  • Proven success in planning and overseeing high\-quality early years provision

  • Current or previous Strong nursery manager looking for the next step, Senior nursery manager or Area/Operations Manager experience in private day care

  • Skilled in handling complex people management issues
Key Skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to inspire and motivate others

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise a complex workload

  • Detail\-oriented, accurate, and highly organised with great time management

  • Confident decision\-maker, calm under pressure, and able to take ownership

  • Skilled in training, developing, and leading staff teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office and nursery management software

  • Enthusiastic, innovative, and committed to high\-quality childcare and equal opportunities
