Help children and families thrive – from early years through to school age

We’re looking for enthusiastic and experienced Early Years practitioners and leaders to join our team and make a real difference across Worcestershire.

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of Worcestershire’s Best Start in Life Strategy, ensuring our youngest children receive high\-quality early education and care. You’ll also play an important part in strengthening the school age childcare agenda, helping to develop sustainable, inclusive and high\-quality provision for children beyond the early years.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where relationships are at the heart of everything you do.

You’ll work closely with early years providers, schools, childminders and out\-of\-school settings, offering support, guidance and constructive challenge to help them improve and succeed.

You’ll focus particularly on targeted settings, helping to secure rapid and lasting improvements. At the same time, you’ll contribute to developing a strong, sustainable childcare sector—including wraparound and school age provision—so that families can access the care they need.

Through your work, you will bring both the Best Start in Life Strategy and School Age Childcare priorities to life—improving quality, supporting sufficiency, and strengthening outcomes for children.

  • Supporting early years and childcare providers to improve quality and outcomes for children

  • Providing expert advice, coaching and challenge to leaders and practitioners

  • Supporting settings with Ofsted preparation and improvement planning

  • Designing and delivering engaging training and professional development

  • Promoting excellent teaching, learning and safeguarding practice

  • Contributing to sufficiency by supporting sustainable early years and school age childcare provision, including wraparound care

  • Working collaboratively with partners to create an effective team around the setting

  • Helping to ensure families can access high\-quality childcare across all age ranges
You will have:
  • Strong experience in Early Years and/or Out of School practice or leadership, with a track record of improving quality

  • In\-depth knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding

  • Experience of delivering training, advice and constructive challenge

  • An understanding of childcare sufficiency and the needs of working families, including school age childcare

  • Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills

  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and families
