The Early Support \& Intervention Coordinator will play a key role in supporting vulnerable students and families by coordinating Early Support processes, referrals, and targeted interventions. The postholder will work closely with Heads of Year, the Safeguarding Team, Attendance Team, SEND Team, and senior leaders to ensure students and families receive timely and effective support to reduce barriers to learning and improve outcomes.

This is a non\-teaching pastoral and administrative role requiring excellent organisational skills, strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to work sensitively with students, families, staff, and external agencies

Early Support

● Coordinate and manage Early Support processes across the school.

● Open, monitor, review, and close Early Support assessments in line with Warwickshire Safeguarding guidance.

● Organise and contribute to Early Support meetings and reviews.

● Act as Lead Professional for identified families where appropriate.

● Maintain accurate, confidential, and up\-to\-date records of all Early Help activity.

● Work directly with students and families to identify barriers and appropriate support strategies.

● Support families in accessing appropriate services and interventions.

● Signpost students and families to internal and external agencies, including mental health, attendance, safeguarding, SEND, and behaviour support services.

● Liaise with external professionals and agencies to coordinate support for students and families.

● Monitor engagement and the impact of interventions, escalating concerns where appropriate.

Student Support and Intervention

● Support the pastoral team in identifying vulnerable students requiring intervention.

● Work closely with Heads of Year, the Safeguarding Officer, Attendance Team, SEND Team, and senior leaders to coordinate support and intervention.

● Help reduce barriers to learning through early identification and targeted intervention.

● Support students experiencing difficulties linked to attendance, wellbeing, behaviour, emotional regulation, family circumstances, or social issues.

● Maintain oversight of intervention plans and ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.

● Support reintegration and transition processes where appropriate.

● Contribute to strategies that improve attendance, engagement, and student wellbeing.

Communication, Collaboration and Partnership Working

● Develop positive and professional relationships with students, parents/carers, staff, and external agencies.

● Communicate effectively and sensitively with families, including those experiencing challenging circumstances.

● Attend and contribute to pastoral, safeguarding, attendance, and multi\-agency meetings as required.

● Ensure information is shared appropriately and professionally to support a coordinated safeguarding and pastoral response.

● Promote a culture of early intervention and preventative support across the school community.

Administration and Record Keeping

● Maintain accurate records, reports, and case files in line with school policies and data protection legislation.

● Ensure CPOMS and other relevant systems are updated promptly and accurately.

● Track referrals, actions, outcomes, and review dates.

● Prepare documentation and reports for meetings and external agencies as required.

● Support the collation of information for safeguarding and pastoral meetings.

● Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

● Remain vigilant to safeguarding concerns and report concerns in line with school policy.

● Maintain accurate safeguarding records using CPOMS.

● Support the safeguarding team with information gathering and follow\-up actions where appropriate.

● Work within statutory safeguarding guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.

● Promote a safeguarding culture where the welfare of the child is always paramount.

Professional Responsibilities

The postholder will:

● Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.

● Attend relevant meetings, training, and CPD.

● Work flexibly and collaboratively as part of the wider pastoral and safeguarding team.

● Take responsibility for becoming familiar with and adhering to school and Trust policies.

● Undertake any other duties commensurate with the nature and level of the role.

Person Specification

Essential

● Experience working with children, young people, or families in an educational, pastoral, safeguarding, or support setting.

● Strong organisational and administrative skills.

● Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

● Good IT skills and confidence using record systems and Microsoft Office/Google platforms.

● Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

● Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.

Desirable

● Experience of coordinating Early Support assessments/processes.

● Knowledge of local support services and referral pathways.

● Experience using CPOMS or similar safeguarding systems.

● Experience working within a school environment.
