About us
KES Lighting \& Home is a family\-run decorative lighting retailer with 41 years in the industry. We sell across our website and to trade customers, handling 70 to 120 orders a day. We're growing, investing in our systems and platforms, and we want someone who can grow with us.
The role
You'll be the first point of contact for our customers, handling enquiries across email, phone and live chat. From order updates and product questions through to returns and the occasional complaint, you'll keep customers informed and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
This is a busy, varied role in a small team where what you do has a real impact on the customer experience.
What you'll do
- Respond to customer enquiries by email, phone and chat, accurately and on time
- Process orders, returns and refunds through our systems
- Track deliveries and resolve courier and dispatch issues
- Answer product and stock questions, with training provided on our range
- Handle complaints fairly and find practical solutions
- Liaise with our sales, operations and logistics teams to get things done
- Keep customer records and order notes accurate and up to date
- Previous customer service experience, ideally in retail, ecommerce or a product\-based business
- Clear, friendly written and spoken communication
- Strong organisation and the ability to juggle several jobs at once
- Comfortable using computer systems and learning new software
- A calm, problem\-solving attitude, especially when a customer is frustrated
- Reliable, accurate and a genuine team player
- Experience with an ecommerce platform (Shopify, Magento) or an ERP / order system (Odoo)
- An interest in interiors, lighting or home products
- Salary range £24,500 to £26,500
