Drivers Mate

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B\&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Milton Keynes (MK13 8PU).

You’ll be working on a full\-time, permanent basis, following a two\-week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday to Friday / Week 2 – Tuesday to Saturday, with a start time at 7:30\. The role is contracted to 40 hours per week.

As a Drivers Mate, you’ll receive:

• An hourly rate of £12\.71, that is an annual salary of £26,436\.80


• Overtime pay of £19\.07 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)

• Work as a part of two\-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on multidrop basis – an average of 16 drops per day off peak and 24 drop per day in peak season


• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required


• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition


• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

• Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential


• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal


• Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing


• Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving


• Willingness to undertake pre\-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)


• Be prepared to commute to Milton Keynes (MK13 8PU) for the required shift pattern
