Dispatch Incharge

Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Dispatch Incharge to oversee the efficient coordination of logistics and shipping operations within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a solid understanding of materials handling, process optimisation, and logistics management. This role is vital in ensuring timely dispatches, maintaining safety standards, and improving operational workflows to support our supply chain objectives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily dispatch activities, ensuring all shipments are prepared accurately and dispatched on time.


• Coordinate with warehouse teams, drivers, and third\-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline shipping and receiving processes.


• Manage warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms for inventory tracking and order processing.


• Oversee materials handling operations, including heavy lifting and forklift utilisation, maintaining safety protocols at all times.


• Implement process improvements to optimise workflow efficiency, reduce delays, and enhance overall productivity.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all dispatch activities.


• Monitor stock levels, organise storage solutions, and facilitate efficient utilisation of warehouse space.


• Lead team management efforts by providing guidance, training, and support to warehouse staff involved in shipping \& receiving tasks.


• Maintain accurate documentation for shipments, inventory movements, and logistics reports.


• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to coordinate delivery schedules aligned with production needs.

• Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles with a focus on dispatch operations.


• Strong knowledge of materials handling equipment such as forklifts and mechanical tools.


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms.


• Experience in process improvement initiatives within a logistics or warehousing environment.


• Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively in a fast\-paced setting involving heavy lifting and complex coordination.


• Knowledge of shipping \& receiving procedures, 3PL operations, and inventory control practices.


• Mechanical knowledge advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues related to dispatch activities.
