Role Overview
We are now looking for a reliable and organised Dispatch Assistant to join our team at our production site in Hayes.
As a Dispatch Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring that customer orders are accurately prepared, organised and ready for dispatch. You will work closely with our Packing and Transport teams to help ensure that the correct products are dispatched on time and reach our customers efficiently.
You will be working 5 days per week, between 14:00 and 23:00, based on a weekly rota.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise customer orders ready for dispatch.
- Check orders carefully to ensure products and quantities are accurate.
- Organise completed orders according to delivery routes and schedules.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
- Work closely with drivers, Packers and other members of the Operations team to ensure a smooth dispatch process.
- Identify and report any missing, incorrect or damaged products before dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised dispatch area.
- Handle products carefully to maintain quality and prevent damage.
- Assist with stock movements and other warehouse or dispatch duties when required.
- Follow company procedures, food safety requirements and health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Previous experience in dispatch, warehouse, logistics, packing or a similar operational environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and move boxes as required as part of the role.
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexibility to work any day of the week according to the rota.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices within a warehouse, food production or similar environment.
