Director – Defence Workforce Transformation
About the role:
Director role to help build and scale our Defence Workforce Transformation business. This role will sit at the intersection of workforce strategy, technology\-enabled transformation, and major programme delivery, helping Defence organisations address some of their most critical workforce challenges.
The Director will play a leading role in shaping and delivering workforce transformation programmes across Defence, building trusted senior client relationships, developing new opportunities, and growing a high\-performing team. The role combines business development, strategic advisory work, and leadership of complex transformation programmes.
As Defence continues to modernise its workforce, skills, HR technology, and operating models, this individual will help clients translate strategic ambition into practical delivery, bringing together expertise across people, technology, data, and transformation.
What your days will look like:
Drive Growth in Defence Workforce Transformation
- Develop and execute growth plans for the Defence Workforce Transformation business.
- Build and deepen relationships across Defence organisations, government departments, and industry stakeholders.
- Identify, shape, and convert opportunities across workforce strategy, skills transformation, people technology, operating model redesign, and organisational transformation.
- Contribute to proposition development aligned to Defence priorities and emerging workforce challenges.
- Support strategic account planning and pipeline development across both public and private sector Defence clients.
- Act as programme leadership for large, complex workforce transformation engagements.
- Provide senior client counsel on workforce strategy, organisational change, HR transformation, and technology\-enabled transformation.
- Ensure programmes are delivered successfully, meeting client outcomes, quality standards, and commercial objectives.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across consulting, technology, change, data, and managed services.
- Help clients respond to evolving workforce challenges including:
+ Workforce planning and talent strategies
+ HR technology transformation
+ Digital workforce enablement
+ AI and automation adoption
+ Organisational redesign
+ Learning and capability development
- Bring external insight and market trends into client conversations and proposition development.
- Build Trusted Senior Relationships

- Significant experience leading large\-scale workforce, organisational, or business transformation programmes.
- Deep understanding of Defence, government, or similarly complex regulated environments.
- Strong track record of business development, opportunity shaping, and client relationship management.
- Experience working with senior executives and decision\-makers.
- Knowledge of workforce strategy, skills transformation, organisational effectiveness, HR transformation, or people technology.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to lead profitable growth.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship\-building skills.
- Growth of Defence Workforce Transformation revenues and pipeline.
- Development of strategic client relationships and market presence.
- Successful delivery of major transformation programmes.
- Expansion of workforce transformation offerings across Defence.
- Development of high\-performing teams and future leaders.
