Direct Payments - Payroll/Account Manager

We’re looking for a detail\-focused Payroll/Account Manager to proactively manage Direct Payment accounts, validate timesheets and invoices, and ensure compliance with pension and payroll regulations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely payments for Direct Payment Holders and their Personal Assistants.

This is a permanent, full time role at 37\.5 hours per week (Monday\-Friday), working on a hybrid basis from your home and Chelmsford office, with occasional visits attend event days in Thurrock, Essex.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Direct Payment accounts, including monitoring funds and chasing contributions


• Upload and approve invoices and timesheets, resolving discrepancies


• Process payroll and payments accurately and on time


• Maintain accurate records across CRM, payroll and accounting systems


• Ensure pension auto\-enrolment and employer/employee contributions are correctly managed


• Reconcile accounts and provide data for KPI reporting


• Respond to customer enquiries and manage account changes


• Identify and escalate safeguarding or financial risk concerns

About You

Essential:

• Eligibility to work in the UK


• Ability to commute to Chelmsford and Thurrock in Essex


• Substantial previous payroll experience


• Strong customer service skills (phone, email, face\-to\-face)


• Excellent attention to detail, numeracy and administration skills


• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload


• IT literate, with experience using Microsoft and payroll/finance systems


• Ability to commute to Chelmsford occasionally

Desirable:

• Experience in pensions administration or regulatory compliance


• Experience managing client accounts in a fast\-paced payroll environment
